Drink Drive Limit Scotland

With plans being introduced to lower the drink-drive limit in Scotland before the Christmas period being approved by the Justice Committee, this proposal has moved a step closer.

This means that the new blood alcohol limit will be decreased from 80mg (per every 100ml of blood) to 50mg.

This move would bring Scotland in to line with the majority of Europe.

In normal terms, this means that the new limit would see an average sized male limited to just under a pint of beer or even a large glass of wine.

While the average woman could be over the drink-drive limit after half a pint of beer/lager or a small glass of wine.

This has been passed in a bid to make our roads safer and save lives as you are six times more likely to be involved in a fatal accident and that one in ten deaths on our roads involve drivers over the legal limit.
